Publish messages in Stream using Oracle Integration by Ankur Jain

image

In this article, I’ll demonstrate how to publish messages into a Stream using Oracle Integration. In the previous article, I have described the capabilities offered by the OCI Streaming adapter and how to use this adapter to connect to the OCI stream.

To complete this article, you must have the OCI Streaming connection already created. If you have not created it earlier, follow this video to know to create a Streaming connection using OCI Streaming adapter in Oracle Integration.

After completing this usecase, the integration will be look like as per the screenshot:

Following is the sample JSON which is used to publish the message into OCI Stream:

[
   {
      "OppName":"qq",
      "Amount":1,
      "Stage":"",
      "AccountName":""
   }
]

To demonstrate, how to publish messages in Stream using Oracle Integration, I have captured a short video that will help you to achieve this. Read the complete article here.

Connect Stream using OCI Streaming adapter in Oracle Integration by Ankur Jain

imageThe Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Streaming Service provides a fully managed, scalable, and durable storage solution for using continuous, high-volume streams of data that you can consume and process in real-time.

There are various use-cases for which Streaming services can be used:

  • Messaing
  • Application logs
  • Operation telemetry
  • Web click-stream data
  • IOT
  • Other use cases in which data is produced and processed continually and sequentialy in a publish-subscribe messaing model.

OCI Streaming adapter and its capabilities

Oracle Integration offers Out of The Box Streaming adapter which can be used to connect to public or private Stream pools and provides the capabilities such as:

  • Establishes a connection to the OCI Streaming Service to enable messages to be published and consumed.
  • Consumes messages from a specific partition and produces messages to a specific partition.
  • Allows to consume records from the latest or from the beginning.
  • Allows to consume records based on the offset.
  • It also supports headers.
  • It can be used as a Trigger to consume message from Streaming service based on specified frequency. But for this, a connectivity agent is required.
  • It supports Avro, JSON, XML based schema. Read the complete article here.

Bringing it all together – OIC + OHIP + Simphony by Niall Commiskey

imageThe thing with OIC Integration is that it does the plumbing in the background. It’s not that exciting demoing integrations directly from the OIC tester so that’s why I created a Visual Builder front end to demo some of the compelling functionality. Those of you who know me appreciate the fact that I’m not the greatest when it comes to developing UIs. Not that I don’t appreciate art and design – below are some of the pictures adorning my humble abode in Bavaria -So with that said on to my demo VB app -. Visual Builder is Oracle’s low-code solution for building and running native mobile and web apps. When I say low code, I really mean low code – 99% declarative.

The goal of the app is to demo usage of the OHIP and Simphony apis in a visual manner. There are 2 user personas, firstly, the guest, who can update her guest profile, reserve rooms etc. The second persona is the Front Office person. He can specify how the guest is going to pay for the room (assign credit card to reservation). He can also assign a vacant and inspected room to the guest, then check them in. Finally, he can do what all hotels should do – order an ice cold beer to be sent up to the guest’s room.

The apis I will be using have been covered in previous posts – so the focus here is more on the VB side.

Visual Builder is simple to use and simple to explain – so for you neophytes out there – pay attention! Read the complete article here.
