SOA & BPM Community Newsletter October 2015

Dear SOA & BPM Partner Community member,

Are you ready for Oracle OpenWorld 2015? In this newsletter you find same tips to prepare OOW 2015. Highlights are the middleware & cloud demo grounds and our Community Reception. At the cloud demo you can get your first impression of the brand new SOA Cloud Service or you request your cloud Paas demo via our community workspace (membership required).

With the launch of SOA Cloud Service the Oracle PaaS platform get’s more and more complete. You as a partner can choose what fits best for your use case. E.g. for SaaS and applications Integration Cloud Service (ICS) and cloud adapters are a good fit. In case you need more SOA Suite functionality e.g. BPEL for orchestration in the cloud, SOA Cloud Service is a good fit. Or in other words if you know Clemens Utschig-Utschig it’s SOA Cloud Service… Keep in mind the Oracle USP is the choice of location, a hybrid approach if development & test systems in the cloud and production on-premises might be the best fit. In this scenario you as a partner can offer managed service for the complete on-premises platform. Make sure You get trained on SOA Cloud Service and develop your consulting service offerings based on Oracle PaaS. A great example is the HCL paper Successfully Migrating to the Oracle Cloud. Thanks for the community and product management to share the initial impressions of SOA Cloud Service: Scott Haaland, Simon Haslam and Gene Eun.

Demos are key within the sales process. Make use of our free hosted SOA Suite 12c free demo service at GSE, use the VirtualBox VM for SOA Suite 12.1.3 or go for the Docker option. At GSE demo.oracle.com you can also request your PaaS demo service! A great service revenue opportunity for you as a partner is to upgrade existing customers to SOA Suite 12.1.3. The integration success workshop material includes industry value propositions and demos to showcase the new features like Stream Explorer, Managed File Transfer and API Management. For Managed File Transfer new samples and demos are available and two free partner workshops in Munich and London are open for registration.

Thanks to the community for sharing all the SOA articles: BAM 12c Series & SOA Top Tips #1 – Using a common XQuery Function Library & Apply SOA/BPM Bundle Patch 3 & Configuration Plans for SOA Suite 12c & OSB 12Bus performance management & monitoring & IoT Is Already Here & IoT hands-on workshop.

In the BPM Section Oracle OpenWorld is also the highlight which will focus on Process Cloud Service (PCS). In case you want to learn more about PCS and how to position it attend our PCS free online sales training and thanks to Dan the getting Started with PCS. For the hands-on training you can request a PCS GSE demo server here. PCS is a great start for new customers to start with process documentation & reporting. In a second step you can sell more consulting services by building executable processes and when the customer grows to build a hybrid process solution where you can run the same processes on an on-premises BPM Suite instance. Want to get more new ideas how to sell BPM Suite and generate more service revenue? Take a look at the BPM Suite customer success deck and get our BPM sales kit.

Thanks to the community for sharing all the BPM articles: BPM Bundle Patch 12.1.3.0.4 released & Case management supporting re-landscaping & Business Architecture Demo for BPM Suite 12c & Eliminating Configuration Drift for Oracle SOA and BPM Projects & BPM 12c Subprocesses (Part 1 of 3): Reusable Subprocess.

In our last section Architecture & AppAdvantage is also about our new PaaS for SaaS Demos. And we know you Partners ♥ UX Innovation Events. Make sure you visit the UX team during OOW!

Thanks to you the community for3 new books full of middleware knowledge sharing: API Management Implementation 12c & Design Principles for Process-driven Architectures Using Oracle BPM and SOA Suite 12c and

Oracle Case Management Solutions. For additional books about middleware please visit our SOA wiki and BPM wiki.

Yes this newsletter is again long – make sure you read it! For a short summery of our key monthly information watch the Fusion Middleware Partner Updates on YouTube. SOA & BPM Community Newsletter August 2015

Dear SOA & BPM Partner Community member,

Demos are key as part of the sales process. You as a partner can use the same demo systems that Oracle pre-sales experts use every day. Demos for both PaaS and on-premises are available including sample applications and demo scripts. Some demo highlights include ICS, PCS, SOA Suite 12c or BPM Suite 12c. Therefore a GSE demo credentials are mandatory for all community members.

Once again EMEA is leading the global OPN Specialization program with more than 50% of the Middleware Specialized partners based in our region. We are excited to announce eProseed ae the first Oracle partner Specialized in SOA Suite 12c. We want to encourage you to become SOA 12c and BPM 12c Specialized and realize the benefits of Specialization e.g. promote your service offerings in the Solutions Catalog. Oracle promotes Specialized partners to the middleware customer base see for example the Fusion Middleware July Newsletter 2015.

We continue our join road to hybrid cloud computing. Thanks to Estafet for the UK Integration Cloud Service event. Want to run a similar event in your country? In our BPM section a must read is the Top 10 Things You Should Know About BPM 11g/12c by Mark Foster. In the case you are working on a BPM 12c project please make sure that you reach out to myself to get Oracle support. The Red Mavericks team published a nice example and series how to build your first BPMN process. Thanks to the community for sharing all the articles: Adaptive Case Management 12c and ADF Human Tasks & BPM 12c Gateways (Part 3 of 5): Parallel Gateway & BPM 12c Migration & BPM Workspace Login with libOVD & Running Oracle BPM 12c on AWS. For all partners who are working on Adaptive Case Management opportunities we would like to recommend the last book Thriving On Adaptability: Best Practices for Knowledge Workers by Keith Swenson.

In our last section Architecture & AppAdvantage we published a free on-demand online training about the Oracle Unified Method, additional information from our UX team See the Oracle Cloud UX roadmap in action at our lab and also a on-demand webcast series how to use Fusion Middleware for Applications AppAdvantage On-Demand Webcast Series.
