Implement Pagination in REST Service: Integration Cloud by Ankur Jain

image

There are situations in which we need to fetch a large number of records from the on-premise application in the Integration Cloud. For example, there are 100k+ records resides in the on-premise database table which we need to fetch and expose them into the REST service response. In this particular scenario, we are considering the database is installed behind the firewall. So to communicate with the on-premise application, connectivity agent is required. Connectivity agent has some limitation in which agent can parse payload of 10MB only for a single request. Exceeding the limit may cause stack overflow error in the agent which may bring the agent down.

So to handle a large volume of data from the on-premise application, we have to keep this limitation in mind and implement the solution accordingly. There might be multiple ways to handle such a situation. Here I’m gonna to handle this situation by implementing the pagination into the REST service which will fetch the data into the chunk.

To complete this article we should have below

  • Oracle Database 12c
  • Oracle Integration Cloud instance
  • Connectivity agent installed

Turn BYOL metering on or off in Oracle Integration Cloud by Scott Haaland

image

Toggle the BYOL (Bring your own license) setting for Oracle Integration Cloud

Oracle has a great licensing option for our existing customers called Bring Your Own License, which allows customers to get greatly reduced billing rates for some of our most popular cloud services.  In PaaS, many of the Fusion Middleware Licenses can be moved from on-premises use to cloud usage, which allows the customer to continue to glean extreme value from their licensing investments of the past.  There is another blog post here that has an FAQ for more details on BYOL:

https://www.oracle.com/cloud/bring-your-own-license/faq/

For Oracle Integration Cloud, this is a great option for our existing SOA Suite and BPM Suite customers.  If they have licenses that are either not being used (shelved) or have a ULA or other license type that allows additional usage on demand, these Weblogic Suite, SOA Suite and BPM Suite licenses can be applied to an Oracle Integration Cloud (or SOA Cloud) instance in the Oracle Cloud, and the hourly metering rate is dramatically reduced.  Details for which licenses are required can be found in the PaaS and IaaS Universal Credits Service Description document here. Read the complete article here.

AFG Drives Frictionless Home Loans with Oracle Cloud by Daryl Eicher

image

Andrew McGee, IT Manager of Business Services for AFG Home Loans, began his transformation journey with a simple question. How much of his IT spend was going to innovation? As a financial services company facing new competition from specialized fintech vendors, Andrew knew they needed to increase their innovation capacity, and he looked to the Oracle Cloud for answers. I got to speak with Andrew about his amazing journey and how it’s transformed the way his team engages with business leaders.

Moving their workloads to the cloud relieved IT from more mundane activities and saved on data center costs. In their quest to take the friction out of the end to end home loan process, Andrew and his team retooled with Oracle’s Cloud Platform with Autonomous Services. Now, new hires are able to immediately contribute to innovation efforts, and based on a track record of quick wins that scale, his team spends more time obsessing on simplifying every aspect of approving and funding the 10,000 home loans per month AFG brokers manage.

Andrew’s vision of frictionless home loans is working for AFG. In the time he has led his team on this journey, he’s seen a 3X increase in innovation capacity. With Oracle Cloud Platform’s hybrid integration and automation, Andrew now has a practical path to adopt disruptive technologies such as conversational AIs, Blockchain, and Robotic Process Automation. And like his colleague shares in  3 Ways National Pharmacies is Creating the Future of Work, the result is more engaged and energized IT pros that find new ways to monetize and secure their digital future.
