Thanks for showing us your interest to rerun the Fusion Middleware Summer Camps! After knowing your suggestions we are happy to announce the 3rd edition of our advanced Fusion Middleware training. The camps will take place from August 26th – 30th 2013 in Lisbon Portugal. Topics will include Adaptive Case Management (ACM) as part of BPM Suite, b2b, Advanced SOA and SOA Governance. Please make sure you plan and book your seat in advance – (Booking is on the basis of first come first seat!).

Thanks for all your efforts to become certified and Specialized. For all the experts who achieved the SOA Suite 11g Essentials or BPM Suite 11g Certified Implementation Specialist, you can download a logo for your blog or business card at the Competence Center. For all the companies who achieved a SOA or BPM specialization you can request a nice Plaques for your office.

As part of our Industrial SOA article services we published “Canonizing a Language for Architecture” in the Service Technology Magazine and on Oracle Technology Network. If you write books or a blog – make sure you share it with us!

Cloud Computing is the hottest topic in IT, specially as an architect you should be aware of the concepts and technology, therefore I highly recommend you Thomas Erl’s latest book named “Cloud Computing”.

In the BPM space, Adaptive Case Management (ACM) is the hottest topic, with BPM PS6 the backend ACM functionality and an ACM sample application are available. You can even combine this hype with Customer Experience. The BPM section in this newsletter reflects the high importance of the topic and includes BPM PS6 video showing process lifecycle,BPM Resource Kit, Functional Testing, Introduction to Web Forms, Customized Workspace Application and Instance Patching Demo.

B2B also become more and more popular in the Oracle SOA Suite. If you could not attend the training organized in the month May, we offer you an additional B2B training as a part of the Summer Camps or you can download the B2B training material from our SOA Community Workspace (SOA Community membership required).

The Amis team published a SOA Suite definitive guide to: The UMS adapter (11.1.1.7). To size your SOA solution we published SOA performance on SPARC T5 benchmark results. Make sure you also use the SOA Suite Tuning Guide for SPARC. A great feature to discover in SOA Suite 11g is the b2b functionality, to learn more attend our b2b training on 21-22 May in Amsterdam.

In the Service Bus section of the newsletter we feature the Fault Handling and Prevention (II) by Ronald van Luttikhuizen & Guido Schmutz and Building OSB projects with Maven and removing the eclipse dependency by Mark Nelson.

On the BPM side PS6 comes with major updates for Composer, Workspace, Revisioning and most important in Adaptive Case Management Support. If you have written a blog post about the new solutions – please feel free to share it with us via twitter @soacommunity!

If in case you work on a BPM 11g opportunity please share it with us! – we want to support you and will make sure we both win!

Thanks to everybody who attended the Fusion Middleware Partner Community Forum 2013. With 125 attendees the event was booked out. Special thanks to all presenters for the great presentations and workshops. In this newsletter edition we highlighted many new online demos for SOA, BPM and OEP. Being a partner, you can use the same demo systems that Oracle pre-sales consultants use every day for customers. Out of the box demos including a flow & script have been updated. Demos are key in the sales process! To access the DSS demo systems please visit OPN and feel free to talk to your Partner Expert!

With the rise of big and fast data SOA and pattern matching can play a key role, make sure you attend our webcast and get the latest whitepaper. To design SOA architectures, OASIS published a SOA reference architecture and EAIESB a SOA BPEL 2.0 Poster. If you work on SOA project make sure you follow the C2B2 SOA Tuning webcast series and I recommend you to try the SOA Testing utilities.

In the BPM section we published new papers such as Transforming Customer Experience,Cooking Up Successful BPMand BPM in Utilities. In addition to this the BPM DSS Demos to extend Siebel are available. Mark Nelson published a blog post about Collecting diagnostic information for BPM and Jan van Zoggel about Integration of Oracle BPM and Oracle UCM/WCC. Please read these publications and make yourself updated from these shared knowledge.

To make your New Year successful, we would like to invite you to our Fusion Middleware Partner Community Forum 2013. This is the best platform to learn and become certified on middleware. Our major tracks include SOA, BPM and ADF & WebLogic. If you are also an expert in middleware, you can learn more about new products and features like BPM PS6 or b2b and event processing. The event is also a great opportunity to network within the partner community and with the Oracle product management team. Make sure you register asap – as only 120 seats are available this year!

In this newsletter edition you will find two major topics: b2b and cloud computing. On the b2b side Martien van den Akker and the A-Team published a series of articles. Additional we made the latest b2b samples and training material available at our SOA Community Workspace (SOA Community membership required.

On the cloud side Bruce Tierney published an article on "Cloud Integration in Minutes” – True or False? and at the OTN Architect Day a series of podcasts was recorded: Dude, What’s My Role? and Migrating Mission-Critical Applications to the Cloud and All Clouds Are Not Equal and Cloud Security and Auditing.
In our monthly BPM section Ajay Khanna shared insight on what will happen in the BPM space in 2013. Geoffroy de Lamalle published a video “eProseed Delivers Processes Skillfully with Oracle BPM Suite" Want to promote your BPM success – submit a BPM eference request!

If you are working on SOA projects, make sure you use the RDA Health Checks for SOA and read the SOA Suite 11g Developer’s Cookbook by Anthony Reynolds.

Too many different product from Oracle, no idea how do they fit together? Get a copy of the Oracle catalog, an excellent overview of the Oracle middleware portfolio. BPM is a key solution to this portfolio. To position BPM to your customers you can find many use case ideas in the paper BPM 11g Patterns and industry specific value propositions for Financial Services & Insurance & Retail. Many more Process Accelerators (11.1.1.6.2) have become available. It is an excellent demo and starting point for BPM projects.

Our SOA Suite team published the most important OOW presentation at the OTN website. The Oracle SOA proactive support team is running a series of blog posts about SOA and JMS Introductory. To become an expert in SOA, Bob highlighted the latest list of SOA books. For OSB projects we recommend the EAIESB OSB poster.
