What are Embeddable Oracle Integration Cloud Process Components and why are they important? By Tom Albrecht

image

To get their job done, today’s knowledge worker is often forced to use many different application user interfaces.  For example, they may be using Oracle Sales Cloud to review their Sales Opportunities, and then have to navigate to a completely different application UI (with a different look and feel) to approve some other sales related tasks. Why not consolidate this experience and give the knowledge worker the experience of performing their work in the context of where they spend most of their time?

The purpose of this Blog is to describe how this can be accomplished by demonstrating how Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) Process Components can be embedded inside of an external application so that the knowledge worker can stay within the context of the main application where they perform their work.

Process Cloud delivers a set of embeddable components.   These components include Start Form, Task Detail, Task List, History Component, and many others. These components can be found on your OIC Server at the following URL: Read the complete article here

Call REST API in Service Bus 12.2.1.2 (JSON Request/Response) by Denis Velagic

image

In this example we will create similar integration as in previous post and only difference will be that both Request and Response will be in JSON format. So let’s call it a typed REST service. We will call a REST API with JSON data format (parameters as input) and as a Response we will get JSON also. So, if you have a requirement to work with some RESTful API that works only with JSON data format you can do it easy in the Service Bus 12.2.1.2 version without converting to XSD. All data mapping can be done in JavaScript activity. JavaScript is not limited to REST services. We can use JavaScript in any service. Here we will call Weather data Rest API and retrieve some JSON information, and this is an example URL of this API. For more information on this API and how to use it you can visit Open Wheater site

Demo

We will create:

  • REST Proxy Service – where we will provide the parameter for the API call
  • Pipeline
  • REST Business service – actual call to the REST API. Read the complete article here.

My private Corner – Oracle Data Management at OpenWorld 2019

image

When I joined Oracle in 2001, Oracle started in the applications business and explored middleware, as the company is built on the successful database business. As part of my introduction bootcamp Andrew Sutherland gave as an overview in relational database technology. I would have never dreamed to share the Oracle conference center stage with Andy Mendelson head of the database business at Oracle. It was an honor to summarize his Data Management keynote at the Oracle Cloud Platform Partner Advisory Council. Yes he did overrun his session by almost twice the time and I was the timekeeper… Andy Mendelson gave the partner community preview of his Oracle OpenWorld 2019 announcements including the free tier. As Oracle’s mission is to help people see data in new ways, discover insights, unlock endless possibilities, it’s time to explore new technologies like integration & orchestration of functions & microservices, digital assistants, a journey like a dynamic process.

OIC for HCM – Data Extracts by Niall Commiskey

image

This post is more a note for myself.
I need to demo HCM extract functionality via the OIC HCM adapter.
I have access to an HCM environment – but don’t have an extract to play with.
So I do the following – export one of the preseeded Extracts – Worker – and then import under a new name. As you can see, I added Delivery options – specifying Output Type – Data – so as to avoid having to
specify a Report(BI/Report) / Template Name.
Note: Delivery Type is set to WebCenter Content.
I also set the Integration Name to NiallCWorker – this is what I will specify when accessing the extract in OIC. Read the complete article here.
