Middleware Day at UK Oracle User Group Conference 2012

Registration has opened for UK Oracle User Group Conference 2012, the UK’s largest Independent Oracle Technology & E-Business Suite conference from 3rd – 5th December, 2012.

The conference will attract over 1,700 attendees from the UK and internationally. Spanning three days and featuring over 250 presentations which range from end-users telling their war stories to Oracle unveiling the latest product roadmaps. We have always been trusted to provide exceptional events with innovative content and renowned speakers and our 2012 event is no exception. It is just not our words, 95% of attendees from the last years conference, highly recommend the experience to other Oracle user. Join the UK Oracle User Group for ‘Middleware Sunday’ – an event packed with technical content for WebLogic administrators taking place on 2nd December the day before the start of UKOUG Conference 2012. The day has been organised by middleware enthusiasts Simon Haslam and Jacco Landlust and is free to UKOUG 2012 delegates.

The content level will be pitched intermediate to advanced. So delegates are expected to be comfortable with WebLogic and its configuration terms, such as domains and managed servers. SOA, Cloud and Service Technology Symposium a super success!

SOA, Cloud and Service Technology Symposium in London was a huge success. More than 600 international attendees participated in it. Our SOA & BPM Community had a great presence there.

At joint booth with the Specialized partners link consulting, eProseed and Griffiths Waite, we presented the latest product updates and had many interesting discussions with customers and speakers.

Special thanks to our HQ product management team Demed, Tim, Manas for coming over right before OOW. Also a very big Thank to Matthias Ziegler from Accenture for presenting our joint presentation individually!

We are planning to use this catalogue not only to publish and highlight successful BPM implementations but also will be running campaigns in industry verticals with your solutions. Industrialized SOA – topic of Business Technology Magazine

Ausgabe $issue_number.$issue_year - $titleAlthough it has become quieter around SOA, the concept is not buried at all. On the contrary, over the years it has reached a new maturity level. Hypes such as Cloud Computing and Big Data have pushed SOA out of the headlines; however “the new hypes have not replace service orientation, but built on it.” The authors of this edition rank among to the SOA pioneers in Germany. They have gathered their collective knowledge for this issue and created a unique picture of the current state of SOA. According to them SOA has developed evolutionarily towards industrialization, towards a holistic platform – and thus towards a new Industrialized SOA.

Lost in Translation – Common Mistakes Interpreting Patterns

Learn how small misinterpretations of high-level design patterns can have large and costly project ramifications.

Good SOA design benefits from the use of a reference architecture and standardised design patterns. However both of these concepts give an abstracted view of the intended solution, which needs to be interpreted to become realised. A reference implementation is important to demonstrate how key design guidelines can be implemented in the toolset of choice, but the main success factor is how these are used through the build and post live phases of the project.

This session will introduce practical design patterns with supporting implementation examples that, if used correctly, will give long term benefit. We will highlight implementations where misinterpretations or misalignment from pattern aims have led to issues post implementation. The session will add depth to the pattern discussions you are already having enabling confidence in proceeding to the next level of realisation whilst considering how they may be implemented within your solution and chosen toolset.
