We will be hosting on-site testing for OPN Certified Implementation Specialist tests at Oracle OpenWorld San Francisco from October 3-5.  Partners attending OOW  can take these tests free of charge. Make sure you pre-register to get your seat and to receive a confirmation:

  • partners do not need to be registered for Oracle OpenWorld and JavaOne 2011 to be admitted to the test.
  • partners DO need to have current OPN membership with Company ID, Oracle Testing ID (Pearson VUE) before coming to the testing room

Can you describe the marketing activities with Oracle?
We have used various marketing kits for lead generation activities. We saved significant time and efforts to launch new campaigns.

How did you team with Oracle around the sales activities?
Sales alignment is the ultimate key behind our success. Our business development team is aligned with regional channel and sales managers. We also had our presence at various events like Special Interest User Group (SIG) etc.

Did you get Oracle support to train your consultants in the Oracle SOA Suite?
Oracle competency portal has been extremely useful to train our consultants. Prerecorded webinars and guided learning path has been the key behind implementation exams. Our consultants also participated at various OTN developer day and live virtual classes.

What are the next steps for XTRON?
We are looking forward to develop competency in newer offerings like CEP, Webcenter and Application Grid. Exalogic is another exiting area to begin and explore. We would continue to invest and strengthen our relation with Oracle.

Presentation abstract

We either use public clouds, for example Amazon EC2, most times for training or development purposes. These environments are only used for a limited time frame. The second cloud models are private clouds, used by corporations in their own datacenters to increase the utilization of their servers across multiple applications.

Today, we use either private or public clouds for certain use cases. To enable a wider adoption of business solutions, hybrid clouds will be the future model. Key will be integration, as well on the data level, the service level and the process level. Processes might start in a private cloud continue in a public cloud and will be completed in a private cloud.

For example, a rental car company (RYLC) starts a promotion for convertibles on their SaaS solution, in their legacy system new promotion and price is added to the financial system. A customer rents the promotional convertible in the public cloud online store. The order is processes and billed from the private cloud system. In this case SOA will be the key enabler for:

-SOA Integration: Integration on all levels will be key, to integrate data, services and processes between legacy systems, private cloud systems and public cloud systems to hybrid systems.
-BPMN process change: Processes based on BPMN 2.0 across hybrid clouds can be adopted by the business owner to respond on flexible business requirements.
-Middleware and SOA Governance enable atomic, loosely coupled participants.

With the RYLC example we will demonstrate many examples in a show case using various technologies including open source. Lastly we will discuss, swarm computing, a future cloud solutions. Today cloud systems are often limited to a small number of use cases e.g. test system or training systems. For a wider business adoption more intelligent systems are required. Meta data and ontology’s will be the enabler for intelligent systems which interconnect with each other.
