SOA & BPM Community Newsletter October 2015

Dear SOA & BPM Partner Community member,

Are you ready for Oracle OpenWorld 2015? In this newsletter you find same tips to prepare OOW 2015. Highlights are the middleware & cloud demo grounds and our Community Reception. At the cloud demo you can get your first impression of the brand new SOA Cloud Service or you request your cloud Paas demo via our community workspace (membership required).

With the launch of SOA Cloud Service the Oracle PaaS platform get’s more and more complete. You as a partner can choose what fits best for your use case. E.g. for SaaS and applications Integration Cloud Service (ICS) and cloud adapters are a good fit. In case you need more SOA Suite functionality e.g. BPEL for orchestration in the cloud, SOA Cloud Service is a good fit. Or in other words if you know Clemens Utschig-Utschig it’s SOA Cloud Service… Keep in mind the Oracle USP is the choice of location, a hybrid approach if development & test systems in the cloud and production on-premises might be the best fit. In this scenario you as a partner can offer managed service for the complete on-premises platform. Make sure You get trained on SOA Cloud Service and develop your consulting service offerings based on Oracle PaaS. A great example is the HCL paper Successfully Migrating to the Oracle Cloud. Thanks for the community and product management to share the initial impressions of SOA Cloud Service: Scott Haaland, Simon Haslam and Gene Eun.

Demos are key within the sales process. Make use of our free hosted SOA Suite 12c free demo service at GSE, use the VirtualBox VM for SOA Suite 12.1.3 or go for the Docker option. At GSE demo.oracle.com you can also request your PaaS demo service! A great service revenue opportunity for you as a partner is to upgrade existing customers to SOA Suite 12.1.3. The integration success workshop material includes industry value propositions and demos to showcase the new features like Stream Explorer, Managed File Transfer and API Management. For Managed File Transfer new samples and demos are available and two free partner workshops in Munich and London are open for registration.

For the hands-on training you can request a PCS GSE demo server here. PCS is a great start for new customers to start with process documentation & reporting. In a second step you can sell more consulting services by building executable processes and when the customer grows to build a hybrid process solution where you can run the same processes on an on-premises BPM Suite instance. Want to get more new ideas how to sell BPM Suite and generate more service revenue? Take a look at the BPM Suite customer success deck and get our BPM sales kit.
